Basic bismuth nitrate is taken in low potency in the form of globules or tablets. Higher potencies should not be administered as self-medication.
Bismuth subnitrate dosage
In the case of acute symptoms, five globules or one tablet D6 or D12 are given every hour, changing to a two-hour rhythm if there is improvement. Chronic complaints are treated with D12 and three doses of five globules or one tablet per day. It is advisable to dissolve the globules/tablets in cold water and drink them in small sips.
Higher potencies and other intake frequencies should be adjusted to the individual clinical picture by an experienced homeopath.

Therapy with Bismutum subnitricum can be used for heartburn during pregnancy and vomiting after eating. The drug has no side effects for pregnant women in the medical sense.
