What is Potassium Bichromicum?
Potassium bichromicum is used in homeopathy primarily for diseases of the upper airways with yellow, stringy mucus. It helps with sinus and sinus infections as well as coughing with a swollen throat or swollen tonsils.
It is also used for digestive problems with stabbing abdominal pain and frequent vomiting. Those affected complain of a stuffy nose, loss of smell or stabbing headaches over the bridge of the nose and eyes.

How do you recognize patients who need potassium bichromicum?
The typical potassium bichromite patient is blond, corpulent and light-skinned. He is an extremely correct person, for whom the fulfillment of duties and the completion of tasks are the top priority. He often has very strong family ties; but also shows narrow-mindedness and a maximum or excess of morality.
According to the most common clinical picture, potassium bichromite shows a pronounced affinity to its (respiratory) mucous membranes; he often catches colds and develops bronchitis, sinusitis, and infectious ulcers that look like punched holes. Pain is described as “punctiform” and rapidly migrating.

Headache migraine
migraine-like, stabbing headache usually only over one eye and on the forehead in connection with dizziness, blurred vision and nausea. For headaches that recur regularly or always occur at the same time.

Sinus infection
with a feeling of pressure at the bridge of the nose and throbbing pain in the forehead and/or cheekbones. Nasal discharge is yellowish, viscous and stringy. Ameliorated by warmth and exercise. Worse in the morning and from cold.

Vagienal discharge
Thick, yellow and viscous vagienal discharge. The discharge smells disgusting and is caustic.

viscous, yellowish, stringy nasal discharge, often with a hoarse voice and scratchy throat. Easily lodges in the sinuses, causing uncomfortable pressure in the nose and forehead. Very helpful for sniffling children.

Application information
Dosage forms of Kali bichromicum
Due to its strong toxic effect, potassium bichromate requires a prescription up to and including D3. It is most commonly used in potencies between 6X and 12X.
As a Schuessler salt, it helps in combination with potassium chlorate to dissolve viscous secretions and to reduce the inflammation.
Potassium bichromicum dosage
Potency and frequency of intake are not easy to determine in lay medicine with Kali bichromicum. In self-therapy one uses the potencies 6X, 12X or 30X and gives them three times a day or once a day with three to five globules. Potency C30 and above should no longer be treated independently.
Potassium bichromicum effect
Potassium bichromicum acts primarily on the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract and the digestive organs. It also acts on the skin, central nervous system and joints.
Potassium bichromicum during pregnancy
Potassium bichromicum is a homeopathic remedy for complaints of the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract. It is therefore given to pregnant women who have a severe cold with persistent, tough congestion in the nose, paranasal sinuses and frontal sinuses. When administered correctly, the remedy can loosen the mucus and curb further inflammation.
In individual cases, pregnancy migraines can be treated with Kali bichromicum. The therapy depends on the overall symptoms as described in the appearance.
Potassium bichromicum for the baby
Potassium bichromicum is often used for infant colds. Babies have dry and crusty nasal mucosa. The nose is stuffy indoors and runs in the fresh air. A yellowish, viscous and stringy secretion is secreted from the nose.
Potassium bichromicum is also often used for middle ear infections in babies with the typical secretions.
Potassium bichromicum for dogs, horses and cats
Potassium bichromicum is mainly used in animals to treat conjunctivitis. The eyes of the animals are sticky with mucus. Ulcers that look like they have been punched out may form on the cornea.
The homeopathic remedy is also given for colds and coughs with stuck mucus. The nasal discharge and mucus coughed up are thick, yellowish, and stringy.
Potassium bichromicum side effects
Hypersensitivity reactions to the original substance can occur in sensitive patients. Allergic skin reactions are possible. To be on the safe side, pregnant and breastfeeding women should therefore seek professional advice and find out about alternative preparations before taking them.
