What is marum verum?
Marum verum is known within homeopathy as a so-called “mucosa remedy“. The effect is mainly focused on inflammation in the mouth and throat, chronic colds, but also rheumatic complaints and sleep disorders. It can also be used as an anthelmintic for pinworm infestations.

How do you recognize patients who need marum verum?
A classic homeopathic drug test has not yet taken place, so the appearance is based on practical experience.
Marum verum patients come across as sensitive but nervous personalities who appear very extroverted, cheerful and fun-loving at first glance. On the other hand, they react tearfully, melancholically and shakily to traumatic events. In this phase they are also very sensitive to noise; there is ear pain and hissing noises in the ears resulting in angry irritation. You often have trouble swallowing, have to clear your throat a lot, and suffer from a scratchy feeling in your throat. The nose itches, the sniffle runs without a real cold being present. Falling asleep before midnight is difficult for those affected, often caused by feelings of hunger. After eating, the patients are irritable and complain of a feeling of pressure behind the forehead. Cold drinks trigger nausea with greenish mucus.
The entire clinical picture can also result from trauma from a long time ago. It is therefore advisable to take a thorough medical history before starting treatment.

Sore throat

Dosage form of Marum verum
Marum verum is classically used in the potency 2x. Higher potencies should be coordinated with a homeopath.
Marum verum dosage
Five globules (D2), which are ideally dissolved in water, are given three times a day. In the case of acute symptoms, the globules can also be taken every half hour until the symptoms improve. If you have trouble falling asleep, it is recommended to give it directly before going to bed, and the globules should be taken with plenty of water. If a significant improvement is detected, the remedy must be discontinued.
Marum verum during pregnancy
Marum verum can be given to pregnant women with chronic colds and nervous sleep disorders as well as severe mood swings. The remedy can help with severe loss of appetite and pregnancy vomiting, if greenish mucus is vomited after drinking liquid.
