What is Ammi visnaga?
In homeopathy, Ammi visnaga is one of the anticonvulsants, the effect of which extends in particular to the smooth muscles of the respiratory tract, the coronary vessels and the muscles of the urogenital tract. It is therefore used for asthma, COPD, vascular calcification and menstrual cramps, as well as for biliary and renal colic, nausea and migraines.
It has not been used much in homeopathic therapy to date.

Dosage forms of Ammi visnaga
Bishop’s herb is prescribed in low potencies. The potencies 3X and 4X have proven effective for nausea, and 1X and 2X for spasms of the bile and urinary tract as well as asthmatic symptoms. 10 to 15 drops should be taken two to three times a day.
Ammi visnaga dosage
In the case of acute symptoms, 10-15 drops of the mother tincture are taken up to 3 times a day.

Ammi visnaga in pregnancy
The homeopathic Ammi visnaga is not a remedy for the treatment of typical pregnancy symptoms. The mother tincture can be prescribed by the doctor to treat cramps and colic. Self-treatment with Ammi visnaga during pregnancy is not recommended.
Ammi visnaga for the baby
Ammi visnaga is not used in paediatrics.
Ammi visnaga for dog, horse and cat
For the treatment of colic in animals, Ammi visnaga can be prescribed. It has a relaxing effect on the muscles and thus relieves the symptoms.
Ammi visnaga side effects
There is no evidence of any side effects for Ammi visnaga. However, at the start of treatment and in the event of an overdose, the existing symptoms may worsen. The drug should then no longer be taken.

Ammi visnaga and Colocynthis are commonly used in renal colic. Typical for Colocynthis are the strongest pains that force you to bend over. The pain is wavy: it comes and goes. A sign of Colocynthis is increased irritability.
