Description of Baryta Carbonica
Baryta carbonica is barium carbonate, that is, it is the barium salt of carbonic acid. They are rhomboid crystals, insoluble in water, soluble in chlorides, ammonium nitrates and acids (except sulfuric). The mines of Witherite, the mineral from which it is obtained, are found in many European locations, such as in England and Austria, and American, as in the USA and Canada.
