What is Kalmia?
Kalmia is used in homeopathic pain treatment. The main areas of application are infectious heart muscle or pericarditis, also angina pectoris and cardiac arrhythmias.
It is used for heart enlargement and complaints that have developed as a result of rheumatic diseases. Kalmia is also used for rheumatic and neuralgic complaints. These include arthritis, muscle and joint rheumatism, lumbago and herniated discs, but also toothache and headaches, which can occur as side effects of facial neuralgia.
The remedy is rarely given.

How do you recognize patients who need Kalmia?
Kalmia manifests itself in stabbing pains in the back and joints. Symptoms begin in the upper half of the body, often between the shoulder blades, and descend, causing tingling and numbness. One feels battered, stiff, paralyzed, has a stiff neck, cannot bend. It cracks in the swollen joints. On cold days, the patients are almost unable to move.
Headaches and toothaches occur in a flash and are associated with stinging in the eyes on the right side. Pulse flutters feebly, heart stumbles hard, contracts painfully, radiating to left shoulder, arm, and hand. The heart muscle is enlarged, the heart valves are thickened. The patients appear anxious, weak, nervous, unable to sleep, and are constantly concerned about their heart. Her gaze is fixed because eye movement causes pain. They suffer from frequent dry mouth, nausea and mushy diarrhea.
