What is sarsaparilla?
Sarsaparilla is a homeopathic remedy for the urinary tract. It is used in the therapy of kidney pelvic infections, kidney colic, bladder infections, but also for skin wheals, dry and purulent eczema and joint pain that can be traced back to an underlying disease of the urinary tract.
Sarsaparilla is also used for skin allergic vaccination reactions.

Dosage forms of sarsaparilla
Potencies D2 to D6 are used in oral therapy, ampoules from D4.
Sarsaparilla dosage
Acute urinary tract problems that match the symptoms described in the drug picture are preferably treated with three doses of Sarsaparilla D6 or D12. If there is accompanying back pain, this dose is given over a period of five days.
If the remedy is used for skin diseases, five globules of Sarsaparilla D12 or D30 are given daily for a week.
In the constitutional therapy for psoriasis patients, higher potencies are chosen, which should be coordinated with a homeopath in individual cases.
Sarsaparilla in pregnancy
Sarsaparilla is best given during pregnancy for urinary tract infections. The remedy is used when a constant urge to urinate with a strong burning sensation at the end of urination is mentioned as a symptom, there is involuntary dribbling of urine and the urine is light-colored.
Psoriasis patients who experience an aggravation during pregnancy or possibly the first appearance of the clinical picture can also be treated constitutionally with sarsaparilla.

Side Effects of Sarsaparilla
Except for the initial aggravation, no side effects to sarsaparilla have been recorded. The drug can also be administered to children if the symptoms are appropriate.
