Schuessler Salts: Treat colds in general

When using Schuessler salts for colds, the stage of the disease should be taken into account:

Schuessler salts: Cold in the 1st stage

A flu-like infection usually begins with a headache and body aches, as well as a sore throat, nose and throat. Schuessler’s treatment no. 3 recommends Ferrum phosphoricum D12 for these first signs of illness. It is generally the remedy for the first stage of a disease and is used, among other things, for inflammation, low fever and to strengthen the immune system. Take five tablets of the No. 3 Schuessler salts throughout the day.

Colds with a fever over 39°C are said to require the No. 5 potassium phosphoricum D6, the “antibiotic” of biochemistry. If the cold begins with a runny nose, No. 8 sodium chloratum D6 is indicated.

Schuessler salts: Cold in the 2nd stage

As soon as the cold symptoms have manifested themselves, the No. 4 potassium chloratum D6 is used. Adults take one to two tablets three times a day, children correspondingly less.

Schuessler salts: Cold in the 3rd stage

In the case of persistent complaints – recognizable by yellowish nasal, throat and/or bronchial mucus – No. 6 potassium sulfuricum D6 is recommended. It is also considered the main remedy for chronic infections. The recommended dose is two tablets three times a day.


Schuessler salts: cough

Which Schuessler salts are recommended for coughs depends on the type of cough. For dry, irritating cough No. 8 sodium chloratum is the main remedy; No. 2 Calcium phosphoricum is also suitable. The latter is also given with a barking cough, as well as with a cough with sputum, like boiled egg whites.

For coughs with whitish-whitish-grey, opaque, tenacious sputum, No. 4 potassium chlorate is recommended. No. 6 Kali sulfuricum is given for yellow mucous sputum, if No. 4 is not sufficient or if the cough in rooms and in the evening worsens.

In the case of a spasmodic cough, No. 7 Magnesium phosphoricum is recommended.


Schuessler salts: colds

For a cold, No. 4 potassium chloratum and No. 12 calcium sulphuricum are given, for runny noses in general No. 8 sodium chloratum, especially with watery-transparent secretion. If, on the other hand, a slimy, greenish-yellow secretion is secreted, No. 10 Natrum sulfuricum is said to be more suitable. If the secretion is brownish-yellow, no. 6 potassium sulfuricum is given.

Other Schuessler salts for colds are indicated for thick, yellow-purulent secretions No. 9 sodium phosphoricum, No. 11 Silicea and especially No. 12 Calcium sulfuricum. If the cold is accompanied by a hot forehead, No. 3 Ferrum phosphoricum should help.


Schuessler salts: bronchitis

The following combination of minerals is said to relieve the symptoms of bronchitis:

  • No. 2 Calcium phosphoricum (10 pieces/day)
  • No. 3 Ferrum phosphoricum (20 pieces/day)
  • No. 4 potassium chloratum (30 pieces/day)
  • No. 6 Potassium sulfuricum (10 pieces/day)
  • No. 8 sodium chloratum (10 pieces/day)
  • No. 12 Calcium sulfuricum (10 pieces/day)

If taken for a longer period of time, No. 10 sodium sulfuricum is also given (10 pieces per day).


Schuessler salts: prevent colds

Some people repeatedly suffer from respiratory infections, especially in the cold season. In this case, No. 9 Natrum phosphoricum and No. 11 Silicea are used in particular. By strengthening the immune system, these Schuessler salts are intended to prevent colds and colds.
