Turkey bush is an Australian flower remedy made from Calytrix exstipulata. It gives confidence in one’s creativity and ability to express itself and is also useful for recontacting the inner and innate healing force . Let’s find out better.
Description of the plant
Calytrix exstipulata– the shrub reaches 3 meters in height, with twisted and cracked stems; the minute leaves are similar to small green flakes attached very close to the small branches to decrease the leaf surface exposed to the sun during the dry season, thus reducing water loss.
The flowers are star-shaped with narrow petals and a mauve-pink color that fades with aging, and bloom from May to August. In common with most Calytrix is the characteristic of the down that extends from the lobes of the calyx beyond the petals.
The shrub grows along roads, on poor, gravelly soils and in the plains of Australia’s Top End. The remedy comes from a particular area of that region, from the Katherine Gorge, a series of thirteen gorges: it was prepared where the oldest aboriginal rock paintings are found: Turkey Bush is the remedy for creative expression at every level.
