Description of the Antimonium Crudum
Antimonium Crudum is the antimony trisulfide (chemical formula Sb2S3). At room temperature it appears as a gray powder with metallic reflections.
Antimonium Crudum is a homeopathic remedy which is obtained by triturating antimony trisulphide powder with lactose and subsequent dilutions and dynamizations in a hydroalcoholic solution.
Antimony and many of its compounds are highly toxic. Its poisoning is similar to that of arsenic. Today it is used in the production of matches and in the vulcanization of rubber; mixtures of sulphide and antimony oxide are used as a yellow pigment in glass and porcelain processing.
