Schuessler Salt No. 14 Potassium bromatum

According to the Schuessler theory, Schuessler salt no. 14, potassium bromatum (potassium bromide), dampens the increased sensitivity of the nerves, regulates hormone release and lymph glands and has a fundamentally relaxing effect.

What is Schuessler salt no. 14, potassium bromatum?

The Schuessler salt No. 14, potassium bromatum (potassium bromide), applies according to the teachings of Schuessler as the fuel of the pituitary gland (hypophysis) and the thyroid gland. The main effect of potassium bromide affects the function of nerves as well as endocrine (hormonal) and lymphatic glands, which is why it is used in particular for brain, nerve and gland disorders.

Potassium bromatum is said to calm sensitive nerves and regulate the activity of glands, especially those of the mucous membranes. Potassium bromatum is also said to increase magnesium levels.

Schuessler salts are not a dietary supplement. Schuessler salt no. 14 also contains the eponymous salt potassium bromatum only in homeopathic doses and can therefore not directly compensate for a corresponding deficiency.

The goal of ingestion is to alleviate symptoms that are similar to those that would occur with a corresponding salt deficiency. The Schuessler salt should also work if there is a completely different cause behind the symptoms.

Symptoms and diseases of potassium bromatum deficiency

Potassium bromatum has a wide range of uses. According to Schuessler, the following symptoms and diseases are conceivable with a potassium bromatum deficiency:

  • Depression, restlessness, insomnia, teeth grinding, nervous weakness
  • Inflammation of the mouth, throat, nose, stomach and intestines
  • sensitive dry skin, psoriasis, eczema, puberty acne, hives, rosacea (copper fin), diffuse hair loss, warts
  • Difficulty walking, feeling paralyzed, nerve pain
  • Headache with a feeling of pressure as a result of mental overexertion, migraine, nervous visual and hearing disorders, poor memory
  • Asthma, shortness of breath, bronchitis, whooping cough
  • Dysregulation of the thyroid gland, Graves’ disease
  • Menstrual and menstrual cycle disorders, morning sickness
  • bedwetting at night, bladder weakness in the elderly
  • hiccup

In principle, individual symptoms can be the cause of a serious illness. Consultation with the family doctor is absolutely necessary if the symptoms persist. In particular, thyroid diseases must be clarified by conventional medicine.

Application of potassium bromatum

As a rule, the potentization for Schuessler Salt No. 14 is D6. Sometimes, however, D12 is also recommended. The potassium bromatum supplement works best in combination with other salts. Good combinations are possible with calcium phosphoricum, potassium chloratum, potassium phosphoricum, magnesium phosphoricum, silica and calcium sulphuricum. All supplementary salts – including potassium bromatum – must not be dissolved in hot water and taken as so-called “hot seven”.

Internal use of Potassium Bromatum

Depending on how severe the lack of potassium bromide is, between one and more than ten tablets a day can make sense. Some naturopaths prefer a larger number, but then with a higher potency (D12). Basically – as experts advise – the tablets must already dissolve in the mouth so that the salts can be absorbed through the oral mucosa. The tablets should usually be taken one after the other, at intervals of about 5 minutes.

External use of Kali bromatum

Potassium bromide paste is suitable for external use.

Storage locations for Kali bromatum

Potassium bromide is stored in the body in endocrine glands that produce hormones. If the supplies in the cells are used up, these reserves are used.

Typical causes of potassium bromatum deficiency

The Schuessler theory states that compulsive traits have an impact on which mineral salts are consumed in the body. However, naturopaths emphasize that a deficiency does not automatically indicate character or that ingested salt does not simply change character. However, an experienced therapist is apparently able to draw conclusions about possible compulsions, fears or other disorders based on the specific deficiencies.

According to this, when there is a potassium bromatum deficiency in sensitive, easily excitable people, there can be an occupational neurosis. Anxiety, inner turmoil, restlessness, nervousness, but also apathy and sleep problems are said to attack the potassium bromide store. The inner restlessness and irritability usually arises from the fact that those affected put themselves under pressure and cannot leave things undone. Here, the targeted use of potassium bromatum can apparently make it easier to work on the problematic character traits by resolving internal blockages or remedying a possible deficiency or imbalance in the biochemical distribution.

Signs of deficiency on the face

According to Dr. Schuessler, a potassium bromatum deficit can also be recognized externally. Possible signs of a lack of Schuessler Salt No. 14 should therefore be:

  • brittle, dry skin
  • Acne
  • stressed eyeballs
  • distinct lower border of the iris

Other important information about Potassium bromatum

With increased salt consumption, the body excretes more bromine. In order not to reduce the effect of potassium bromatum, the consumption of table salt should therefore be restricted.

Some naturopaths also use potassium bromatum to help you quit smoking.
