Schuessler Salt No. 5 Potassium phosphoricum

According to Schuessler, Schuessler salt No. 5 potassium phosphoricum (potassium phosphate) is a general remedy for energy and performance. It is supposed to support the nerves and muscles. It is therefore used in the recommended potency as potassium phosphoricum D6 in cases of mental and physical exhaustion.

What is Schuessler Salt No. 5: Potassium phosphoricum?

Potassium phosphoricum, also called potassium phosphate, is found in all nerve and muscle cells as well as in the blood. The fuel should enable the smooth cooperation of nerves and muscles and support their generation of energy.

Schuessler Salt No. 5, which is based on potassium phosphoricum, is considered the “nerve salt” of Schuessler’s teachings. However, Schuessler salts are not a dietary supplement. They only contain the eponymous salt in homeopathic doses and therefore cannot directly compensate for a corresponding salt deficiency. The goal of ingestion is to alleviate symptoms that are similar to those that would occur with a corresponding salt deficiency. The Schuessler salt should also work if there is a completely different cause behind the symptoms.

Schuessler Salts No. 5 is intended to support performance and commitment in life. It is also used as a supportive antiseptic to treat pathogens. This is especially true if you have a fever (over 38.5°C). However, a serious illness can be behind a high fever. Therefore, you should not go without a visit to a conventional doctor for too long and only use Schuessler salt no. 5 potassium posphoricum as a support.

Together with Schuessler Salt No. 8 sodium chloratum, Schuessler Salt No. 5 is said to build up the body’s tissues and prevent their decay. According to Dr. Schuessler can be obtained from the tissue, which is said to be associated with its decay and even symptoms of paralysis. According to Schuessler, the decomposition products are usually excreted with an unpleasant smell in the urine, faeces, breath or sweat.

Symptoms of potassium phosphoricum deficiency

Since the Schuessler salt no. 5 potassium phosphoricum is seen as an energy source for mental and physical performance, it is not surprising that a deficiency in this functional agent causes symptoms, especially in connection with the nerves and muscles. You can find an overview of a selection of the complaints here:

  • Fear of claustrophobia, general nervous weakness, burnout, depressive moods, sleep disorders
  • Muscle weakness, muscle paralysis, muscle wasting
  • tachycardia
  • Tissue damage with unpleasant-smelling excretions
  • bad breath, bleeding gums, receding gums
  • constant feeling of hunger after eating
  • high fever (over 38.5°C)
  • Nail and skin fungus

Application of potassium phosphoricum

Schuessler Salt No. 5 is recommended for internal and external use.

Internal use of potassium phosphoricum

Potassium phosphoricum D6 is usually recommended for internal use. The dosage, i.e. the number of tablets per day, and the frequency with which it is taken are best determined by an experienced therapist. According to the Chinese organ clock, the best time to take it is in the afternoon. Then these Schuessler salts should be able to best relieve depression, muscle weakness and the like.

External use of potassium phosphoricum

A potassium phosphoricum ointment can be used on babies with sore buttocks. The ointment is also recommended to accompany the medical treatment of skin infections such as erysipelas. In the case of symptoms of paralysis, potassium phosphoricum D6 is often used both as an ointment and in tablet form.

Storage locations for potassium phosphoricum

If the reserves of potassium phosphoricum in the cells are used up, the mineral should be recalled from the stores in the temples, the spleen and the nerves.

Characteristic causes of a lack of potassium phosphoricum

Dr Schuessler blamed compulsive character structures for the excessive consumption of minerals. According to this, excessive use in life, frequent excessive demands and excessive expectations of oneself are responsible for a high consumption of potassium phosphoricum. If the multitude of possibilities to live and shape your life and the way of life of your fellow human beings overwhelm you or if idealistic, unrealisable ideas manifest themselves, this eats into your performance. Teariness, discouragement and weakness can be emotional consequences.

According to Dr. Schuessler experienced an improvement.

Signs of deficiency on the face

Face analysis is an important tool according to the teachings of Dr. Schuessler to detect deficiency symptoms. If there is a lack of potassium phosphoricum, the face shows the following features:

  • sunken temples
  • dull luster of the eyes
  • Ashen skin on the chin, possibly all over the face
  • ashen eyelids

More information about Potassium phosphoricum

If you have a high fever, symptoms of paralysis, depression or similarly serious symptoms and illnesses, you should also seek medical advice. The teaching of Dr. Schuessler always points out that serious complaints must be clarified by a doctor.

The effect of potassium phosphoricum shows up at different speeds – for example, quite quickly in the case of a high fever or bad breath, but much more slowly when the tissue builds up.
