Schuessler Salt No. 7 Magnesium phosphoricum

According to Schuessler, Schuessler Salt No. 7 Magnesium phosphoricum (magnesium phosphate) is intended to relieve muscle cramps and the associated pain. It is also said to have a calming effect on the nerves and, for example, to help with inner excitement, stage fright or exam anxiety.

What is Schuessler Salt No. 7: Magnesium phosphoricum?

Magnesium phosphoricum, also called magnesium phosphate, is considered a fuel for muscle activity and nerve function. It is involved in many processes that are controlled by the muscles, such as the peristalsis of the gastrointestinal tract or the rhythm of the heart. Magnesium also plays a role in the activity of the glands. The Schuessler Salt No. 7 is recommended as a remedy for the treatment of cramps, as a nerve agent and to strengthen the lymphatic system.

However, Schuessler salts are not a dietary supplement. They only contain the eponymous salt in homeopathic doses and therefore cannot directly compensate for a corresponding salt deficiency. The goal of ingestion is to alleviate symptoms that are similar to those that would occur with a corresponding salt deficiency.

Symptoms and diseases of magnesium phosphoricum deficiency

According to Dr. Schuessler indicates a lack of magnesium phosphoricum. Since this salt plays an important role in the transmission of nerve impulses, a deficiency can affect the arm, leg or chewing muscles as well as the gastrointestinal, heart and vascular muscles. The following complaints are therefore possible:

  • stomach pain
  • colicky cramps
  • gas
  • leg cramps
  • Back pain from tension
  • menstrual cramps
  • headache
  • Asthma
  • tachycardia
  • coughing fits

Salt No. 7 is also said to have an influence on the vegetative nervous system and is therefore recommended for the following symptoms.

  • nervousness
  • inner unrest
  • mental strain from stress
  • sleep disorders
  • frequent cravings for sweets

Application of magnesium phosphoricum

Magnesium phosphoricum is used internally as tablets or globules and externally in the form of ointments or gels.

Internal use of magnesium phosphoricum

The Schuessler Salt No. 7 is usually used in the potency D6. The recommendation for the standard dosage is 3 x 1 tablet per day, which is slowly sucked. If the symptoms improve, the frequency of administration can be reduced.

The “Hot 7” is particularly recommended for acute pain and cramps. Seven to ten tablets of Schuessler Salt No. 7 are dissolved in briefly boiled, hot water and then drunk in sips after cooling down.

External use of Magnesium phosphoricum

Magnesium phosphoricum D6 as an ointment can be used, for example, for itchy skin or muscle tension. It is applied thinly to the appropriate areas two to three times a day.

Signs of deficiency on the face

With the help of the so-called facial diagnosis, a therapist looks for a lack of certain Schuessler salts in the face of his patient. If the supplies of Magnesium phosphoricum are exhausted, this can be recognized by the following signs:

  • very flushed cheeks, occasionally of the whole face
  • hectic spots on the face and neck
  • strong blushing with stage fright
